Contribution to the Enquiry Commission IV of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Parliament

2025-09-25

On 25 September, Fabian Hoose represented the Center of Cooperation RUB/IGM as an expert witness before the North Rhine-Westphalia State Parliament's Enquiry Commission IV on the topic of “The World of Work and Continuing Education”.

Since 2021, the Center of Cooperation RUB/IGM has been conducting research on the regulated introduction of human-centred AI as part of the HUMAINE Competence Centre. Together with our partners, we have developed the HUMAINE toolbox contents ‘Co-determination dialogues’ and ‘Model BV AI’ over the past few years. In order to successfully exploit the opportunities offered by AI in the future, it is essential to ensure that AI is used and handled in a trustworthy manner within companies.

In this context, training for employees, especially those whose daily work is directly affected by the use of AI, is an important factor in ensuring acceptance and confidence in the use of AI. Not least due to the entry into force of Article 4 of the EU AI Regulation, companies have a duty to act in this regard.

We look forward to the further work of the commission of inquiry and are pleased to continue contributing these perspectives in order to leverage the opportunities offered by AI in the interests of good work.
