2023-11-23

2023-11-23 HUMAINE Ideenlabor Mitbestimmte KI-Einführung gestalten

The ideas lab on 23.11.2023 with the topic "Shaping the co-determined introduction of AI" brought together experts from science and practice at the ZESS (Research Centre for the Engineering of Smart Product-Service Systems).

The focus was on a common goal: Shaping the working world of the future with artificial intelligence in a human-centred way!
The presentation by Goivanni Suriano (Group Works Council of Deutsche Telekom AG) kicked off the event and illustrated how co-determination in AI introduction processes can be organised in the interests of employees.
The practical example was commented on and categorised by experts. Prof. Dr Virginia Doellgast (Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations) presented exciting findings from her own empirical case studies within the telecommunications industry, Dr Frank Lorenz (specialist lawyer for labour law) addressed the challenges of AI with regard to the Works Constitution Act and Prof. Dr Birgit Apitzsch (Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Lehrstuhl für Soziologie / Arbeit, Wirtschaft und Wohlfahrt) stimulated a lively discussion with questions on the "limits of co-determination".
